Biography
Dr Dan Kneeshaw worked in coniferous and mixed forests in Manitoba and BC before undertaking graduate studies in forest ecology. After a post-doctoral internship he worked on mixedwood silviculture and the Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources Forest Research Directorate. Since 2001 Daniel Kneeshaw is a professor at UQAM. He is currently Director of the PhD program in Environmental Sciences and has been a member of the Centre for Forest Studies since it’s beginnings. Natural disturbance dynamics and their effects on forest structure and composition are the main focus of his work although he is also involved in research on First Nations forestry, conservation and alternative forest management.
